Jr. Livestock Sale
The Junior Livestock Sale is an annual prestigious event and is the culmination of the Weld County Fair. The top animals nominated and eligible for the Sale include all Grand and Reserve Grand Champions in each of seven species. Buyers at the Junior Livestock Sale have the opportunity to bid on animals outright or support exhibitors by committing to an Add On, which is money added onto the sale of any animal. Buyers also have the option of donating the meat from the animal to the Weld County Food Bank.
Join us to support the commitment and hard work of our Weld County youth! The 2026 Junior Livestock Sale is Monday, July 27th, beginning at 3:00p.m., in the Events Center.

Ways to Participate
Supporting local youth has never been easier! Whether you're ready to purchase an animal or simply want to contribute, there's a participation option that fits every level of involvement.
Add-On Contributions- Want to support a specific exhibitor without purchasing and animal? You can! Add on contributions allow anyone to give directly to a youth participant. Just register as a buyer, select the exhibitor(s), and choose the amount you'd like to contribute. Every dollar makes a difference. The online Add-On form will be linked the day of the sale.
Online Add-On Form
Purchase an Animal- As a buyer you have a few options of what to do with the purchased animal:
Custom Processsing
Purchase an animal and have it custom processed for your freezer - an ideal option for families, businesses, and community groups. Processing is at the buyer's expense.
Weld Food Bank Donation
Make a meaningful impact by donating the meat from your purchased animal to the Weld Food Bank. In 2025 alone, buyers donated an incredible 6,961 pounds of meat to help feed our community.
Buy-Back Program
The animal you purchase may be sold through the commercial food distribution system, and its market value (posted on the day of sale) will be deducted from your total bid amount. You are responsible for paying only the difference between your bid and market value.

Why Supporting the Junior Livestock Auction Matters
The Fair and Auction represent the culmination of months of commitment by 4-H and FFA members. These youth care for their animals daily by feeding, grooming and maintaining detailed records.
Auction day is a time to celebrate their efforts and reward excellence. While only top-placing animals qualify for the sale, anyone can participate as a buyer, and all contributions are recognized throughout the community.
Where does the Money Go?
Nearly every dollar you give goes straight to the exhibitor whose animal earns your winning bid, directly fueling their dreams and future success. The 4-H and FFA livestock programs have opened doors for countless young people, empowering them to pursue higher education and long-term career goals.
These dedicated exhibitors invest significantly in their projects, from purchasing their animal(s) to covering feed, supplies, and grooming expenses.
Your generosity doesn't just buy an animal, you're investing in a youth's future, their confidence, and the foundation of tomorrow's leaders.
