Weld County Junior Livestock Sale Ambassador Program

Weld County Sale Committee Youth Ambassador Program

The Weld County Fair Jr. Livestock Sale Committee would like to invite all 4-H members to apply to be a Youth Ambassador. The Youth Ambassador Program was founded 11 years ago to afford 4-H & FFA members the opportunities to assist and be first-hand involved with the processes and inner workings of the Weld County Fair Jr. Livestock Sale. This program strives to develop our ambassadors into elite leaders that are willing to go above and beyond, “to make the best, better!” As an ambassador, our members are required to be leaders of moral character and value and to play an active role in the production of our sale. They are provided with opportunities to grow and develop their leadership, communication and relationship building skills, all the while gaining confidence, responsibility and problem-solving skills. This leadership program is not limited to livestock exhibitors but is designed to build leadership skills for all young people.

The requirements for the Youth Ambassador program are:

  1. Be a 4-H member in good standing or current FFA member.
  2. Complete the application-located on the Weld County Fair website under the Jr Livestock Sale link; turn completed application into the Weld County Extension Office or email it to Becky Wiedeman at no later than April 1, 2021.
  3. Be available to assist in representing the Jr. Livestock Sale in an informative setting.
  4. Be available to assist with various aspects of the Jr. Livestock Sale during fair week.
  5. Attend and fulfill assigned duties on the day of the Jr. Livestock Sale.
  6. Attend and assist with the follow-up sale meeting, (approximately 1-2 weeks following sale day).
  7. Have fun, learn, grow and develop into our future leaders!

If you have any questions, please contact Becky Wiedeman at (970) 214-1331.
