Welcome to the 2013 Weld County Fair!
We are looking forward to another exciting year with most of the favorite shows and exhibitors coming back for 2013. I would like to thank everyone who helped make last years Fair the success it was, and to say that I was proud of the dedication and work all the volunteers put into making the fair work as well as it does.
I would like to also like to thank the fair board for all of their support for without them the fair would not be possible or nearly as successful. The fair board is made up of a diverse group of individuals who share their unique talents, passions, and common interest to enhance the fair experience for every one. We are continually looking for more talent to include on the board and I would like to ask anyone who would like to participate more to consider becoming a fair board member or part of one of many committees. This is a rewarding way to give back to the community and help show your support of Agriculture in Weld County.
Another group of dedicated people who deserve all our thanks is the Extension Office Personnel who are the everyday behind the scene people who keep the Fair Board on tract and who are the go to people for the fair. I would like to congratulate Janet Konkel for winning the 2012 Fair Coordinator of the Year award from the Colorado Association of Fairs! Janet has gone above and beyond to make the fair work the way it has the last few years. Janet has also standardized and documented most of the procedures for putting on a fair that will help all involved to continue the continuity that is now starting to be recognized by all who participate in the fair.
Last I would especially like to thank the Weld County Commissioners for their continued support of the fair. There are a number of Counties who do not have the support of their County Commissioners and whose fairs are struggling to continue promoting agriculture in their area. Weld County can be proud that with the support of the County Commissioners our fair is the gold standard that other fairs are going to strive to reach in the future. The County Commissioners are giving back to agriculture, and the youth of Weld County and deserve all of our thanks.
For all of our exhibitors who are coming back I hope this years fair is better than last and that is the event you consider the event to must be at.
